4-1-2-3 formation – Martial and Shaw starts in Man United probable line-up vs Anderlecht

Manchester United alternate route to Champions League qualification is the Europa Cup and the Red Devils will file out later tonight against Begian side Anderlecht in their quarter final first leg.

Jose Mourinho did not travel with the whole of his first team players but all the players available should be able to hand the Red Devils their second away win in the competition.

We reported yesterday that United will be without Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young who just returned to full training but Michael Carrick was sidelined last weekend and it is expected that the midfield of United will function without him again in this game.

We expect Mourinho to stick with a 4-1-2-3 formation this way.

Goalkeeper

Sergio Romero heroics in between the sticks for United has earned a place in the United’s team albeit De Gea is still injured. The Argentine is expected to continue in the game today.

Defense

The return of Antonio Valencia means he’ll displace Darmian in the right back position while improvement by Luke Shaw means he’ll be handed another chance to prove himself further. At the heart of defense, i expect to see Marcos Rojo partner Eric Bailey and their tough tackles should come handy.

Midfield

Lingard earned himself a place in the midfield, which means Marouane Fellaini would sit on the bench. While Pogba’s place is indisputable at the moment, Ander Herrera playing deep as the holding midfielder will present a solid midfield trio.

Attack

Martial has been experiencing a deep in form but i think he’ll be handed a chance today on the left wing, and this should help boost his confidence. Mkhitaryan is expected to flank the central striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the right wing.
