About

RetroUnited.com is a unique news source for Manchester United information featuring exclusive news content and columns from former players of the club. Our extensive network of ex-players makes RetroUnited.com the premier website for news and reaction to events at Manchester United.

An extensive database of Manchester United’s history is available on our pages, making it the number one place to visit online.

News items that appear on this website will be original, often featuring the input and opinion from a former player or Manchester United personality that was given exclusively to RetroUnited.com – that means everything you read is fresh, not copy and pasted or taken from other sources. Our columnists opinions are also fresh – far from intimating that we are one collective voice who tell you how you need to support the club, we embrace the difference in opinion that runs through the mind of football fans. In understanding that, we celebrate the individuality – our writers may challenge and divide with their opinions, but we do not profess to be the oracle, united or divided.

Opinion pieces are complemented wonderfully by the nostalgic work we undertake; with such a rich and colourful past, we often like to indulge in United’s past, and we also produce a series of recurring feature pieces – as with everything through the website, we strive to be thorough and innovative, so as to bring you something different, and it’s no coincidence that many of our successful features have been imitated by other blogs.

RetroUnited.com remains the only supporter run website (as it has for 3 1/2 years in its previous guises) to feature exclusive and regular contributions from former United players. In 2011 this started out as David May, Kevin Pilkington and Alan Tonge, over the last few years this evolved to take in others such as Alex Notman, Markus Neumayr and even the legendary Brian Greenhoff who, before his tragic death in May 2013, wrote a regular column for the website. We have featured exclusive interviews from the likes of former manager Tommy Docherty (who, for the 2014/15 season, will contribute a regular column), with other former players like Sir Bobby Charlton, Alex Stepney, and Viv Anderson to name just a few that have spoken exclusively to RetroUnited.com. To find more about our former players who contribute, read here.

As well as a popular, long running blog, RetroUnited has a popular, long running podcast with great feedback from Twitter and iTunes due to its informal and interactive style – proving our intention to stay ahead of the game and innovative after a flood of podcasts adopted similar formats, RetroUnited broke new ground once again during the 2011/12 season when it became the first podcast to feature regular contributions from former players as the late, legendary Brian Greenhoff sat on the panel. Since the 2013/14 season, we have been delighted that our podcast has featured another United legend, Gordon Hill, on the panel every week.

Our Twitter account is @RetroUnited and we also run the popular @MUFCMemorabilia account.
