Agent of highly-coveted South-American spotted at Man United to seal rare deal

Corinthians’ 19 year old left full back, Guilherme Arana is edging closer to a move to Manchester United. The Brazilian youth international has impressed for the Brazilian outfit this season, and could make a dream move to Old Trafford sooner rather than later. Earlier this season, he was part of the Brazil U20 team that faced their English counterpart. He was very impressive, and that alerted a host of teams in the Premier League, though it is believed Manchester United are in the forefront for his signature. The player’s rights, however is owned by a third-party agreement, which is the common norm in South America.

His club, Corinthians only have a 40% stake in his rights. The rest of his rights is owned by Elenko Sports, owned by agent, Fernando Garcia. Arana has been courted by Tottenham, Sporting Lisbon and Inter Milan, who have identified the teenager as one to watch out for in the future. Elenko Sports have sent a representative to the UK to broker a deal between both parties. The said representative was seen on social media uploading images of himself at the London office of Manchester United. Arana has a contract till the end of 2019 and has been very good in his 10 appearances this season.

As a Brazilian left back, he combines attacking flair with defensive solidity. He is a very good passer of the ball, and possesses positional awareness on his pitch. However, though, his lack of height makes him a liability for aerial balls. Jose Mourinho has been left far from impressed with his options at left back. The players at his disposal have not shown his hunger that is characteristic of his previous teams. He believe Arana has what it takes to provide valuable back up to his left backs, and could as well stake a place for himself in the first team, after acclimatizing to the country, language and club.

This speculation is slowly turning into reality following this latest development of his representatives holding talks with the 20-time English champions. A January move may be in order, but The Red Devils have to sort out the problem of his work permit, as he is an uncapped senior international.
