David May Preview : Arsenal

What another massive weekend it is in the Premier League, we play Arsenal and City host Spurs. It could and hopefully is all change at the top of the table. The dream scenario is we beat the Gunners and Spurs smash City, it would tighten everything up even more and I am sure the Gaffer would be using the phrase “squeaky bum time” a little earlier than usual.

We have had a couple of cracking results recently, ok the performance in the second half against City wasn’t ideal but we got the job done and then last weekends 3-0 demolition of Bolton proved we are getting back on track. I will also add at this point that my prediction for the Trotters game last week was spot on, I went for 3-0 with Welbeck scoring, now I am never one to toot my own horn but TOOT TOOT!!!!! I can see the Gaffer picking a similar team against Wengers side on Sunday, they are not the Arsenal of old and although they do have one exceptional player (Robin van Persie),  their all round game is still lacking something and they are defiantly beatable.

Wazza and Nani usually do well against the Gunners, that is because we are quite happy to hit them on the counter attack, we have superb pace in the team when both wingers play and more often than not we take our chances. I think that is the main difference between United and Arsenal, I have watched them quite a lot recently and players like Walcott, Gervinho and Asharvin pick the wrong option so many times in a game I would be going crazy on the touchline, I don’t know how Wenger puts up with it. They create opportunities for fun but if you can’t pick out a final ball it becomes irrelevant. I can see that continuing against us, let’s bring all three points back from the Emirates!

Oh and a quick shout out to the Ginger Prince, well done mate, you look great for 45!

Danger man: Robin Van Persie

For me Van Persie is turning into a mixture of Bergkamp and our very own Van Nistelrooy!!!! What a combination that is turning out to be. Ok he isn’t quite the poacher Ruud was or as classy as Dennis but he has been impressing a lot of people this year. He is finally having an injury free season that has come to the Gunners rescue because without him they would be half way down the League by now. If Wengers men stand any chance of getting back into Europe’s elite competition he will have to stay fit because the other strikers at the club just aren’t consistent enough.

Score prediction : United are gonna win 2-1 against Arsenal with Wazza scoring the last goal!
