The 1935–36 season was Manchester United’s 40th season in the Football League.

At the end of the season, United finished champions and were promoted back to theFirst Division after five years away.

United posted a profit of £6,500, a welcome change from the recent turmoil they had found themselves in on this front.A platform opposite the South Stand, and named Old Trafford Halt, was opened in August 1935, enabling fans to travel by rail.
