Manchester United keenly interested in Alex Sandro – report

By Dave Marshall

Manchester United are interested in signing 26 year old Brazilian left back, Alex Sandro who currently plays for Serie A giants, Juventus, the Mirror reports. The player has long been a target of Chelsea head coach, Antonio Conte who has identified the defender as a player that can elevate his team to the next level but it would seem that Jose Mourinho is ready to put a spanner into the works of his former team by making a move for the player who has stated his desire to leave Italy for greener pastures abroad.

Daily Record reports that Jose Mourinho has about £90m to spend on new arrivals next month in the January transfer window and will make a move for the former Porto man. Chelsea were reportedly close to signing him in the summer transfer window but couldn’t strike a deal with Juventus for his services.

Alex-Sandro-Chelsea

Manchester United have been looking to add a quality addition to our left back position as our current options such as Luke Shaw and Daley Blind have not impressed manager, Jose Mourinho. Veteran winger, Ashley Young is currently first choice, but Jose wants a more natural fit in the position.

There has been talk about Tottenham left back, Danny Rose being interested in a move to Old Trafford but no concrete offer has been made yet for the England international.

Sandro is one of the best players in the world in his department and is expected to feature for the Brazil national team as first choice at next summer’s World Cup in Russia ahead of Real Madrid player, Marcelo.

He is a left back that has been compared to Roberto Carlos due to his attacking trait and will offer quality and consistency in that position though we face competition for his signature from Chelsea.
