REPORT: Pedro ‘To Get His Way’ And Sign For United

Talk of Pedro to Manchester United has rumbled on all week and so it’s no surprise that it’s featured in the Spanish media outlets again.

However, Marca do run with something of a different development today as they say Pedro now has decided he wants to join Louis van Gaal’s team. They report that even Josep Bartomeu’s wish for him to stay has not been successful and the prospect of first team football on a more regular basis is too tempting to turn down.

From Marca :

Barcelona and Manchester United are in talks over a deal for Pedro. The player looks like he will get his way and the remarks by Josep María Bartomeu seem to have done nothing to change his mind, after the president said that there would be no more players in or out of the squad.

Luis Enrique is not keen to see the winger go either. The manager said that he does not want him to leave and that he believes that it would harm Barcelona’s chances of doing a double treble.

Pedro, however, is not willing to spend another year in the shadow of the team’s attacking trio and he has informed the coach and president of his desire to move to United. The fact that both Bartomeu and Manchester United are currently in the same city could expedite the deal. In fact, the two teams are set to play each other on Saturday.

Barcelona will not make it easy for United though. The club and Pedro signed a new deal to extend his contract, but they also agreed that if another club puts €30 million on the table, they would accept the offer and it would be easier for the player to depart.

Van Gaal wants the Spaniard at Old Trafford and the footballer has been tempted by the opportunity.

There have been some suggestions that Pedro will put in a transfer request to facilitate the move. However, we don’t expect things have broken down so much that such a move will have to be taken.
