Two players expected to follow Nemanja Matic to Old Trafford

Manchester United have announced the signing of Nemanja Matic after he was pictured in a club gear on Sunday reportedly having his medical and manager, Jose Mourinho all but confirmed the move saying after the 3-0 victory over Valerenga in Oslo that the 28-year-old wanted a move to Old Trafford.

United have been linked to a host of players after the arrivals of Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof, and it is believed the Red Devils will make moves for Ivan Perisic and Serge Aurier. Both players are on a Man United’s radar, and it is reported that in the coming weeks, deals may be struck for the pair.

Ivan Perisic

The classy 28-year-old wideman gave a glimpse of his undoubted quality after almost singlehandedly destroying Chelsea in a pre-season clash in which Inter won 2-1, and a lot of United fans were quite impressed with his display. He scored one and constantly tormented the backline of the champions with his incisive passing and deadly crossing ability.

He has been linked to United all summer but a difference in valuation has been the stumbling block. Inter Milan manager, Luciano Spaletti has stated in clear terms that the player is not for sale, though it is believed Perisic will still make the switch in the coming days.

He teased the fans of the 20-time English giants after sharing a picture on Instagram, after sharing a picture of his daughter, Manuela alongside a praying emoji and a Manchester United club logo.

Serge Aurier

The Ivorian right-back is keen on a switch to Old Trafford following the arrival of legendary defender, Daniel Alves from Juventus. Throughout his time at the Parc des Princes, he has always had disciplinary issues but his quality is not in doubt. Only Antonio Valencia is the recognized right-back at the club and Aurier will offer power, pace and attacking intent down that right side.

His disciplinary record is not quite an issue as there is no better manager to curb his excesses than manager, Jose Mourinho. The Sun reports that he has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils but his transfer is hinged on a conviction hearing of assault on August 7. He was banned in November last year from entering the UK after an assault at a Paris night club, but if the hearing goes in his favour, he could become the club’s fifth signing.

Agreed…we don’t need these 2….younger players deserve more opportunity to play in the first team.

I saw a Bayern Munich second team destroy Perisic, he was dreadful, could not beat his opponent, passing awful, balls into the box as bad, United already have better and need the encouragement and experience to kick on.

Serge is vital to relieve Darmian but still has court issues. what José needs urgently is a winger and Perisic has the pace that José wants to supply balls to either Lukaku, Rashford or Martial.
