British media source the Daily Star, suggest that after being frozen out by manager Jose Mourinho after a poor run of form, the classy player wants clarifications about his future. Despite starting the season brilliantly, registering five assists in his first three games his performances have tailed off in recent months.
It is believed the player will speak with Jose Mourinho directly in a bid to find out whether he has a long term future at Old Trafford.

This scenario happened last season too, as the player was frozen out after a disastrous debut against Manchester City back in September. Mourinho was critical of the player for not being consistent and playing at the level he expects for a team of United’s stature. He has not played for United since a 1-0 victory over Brighton in late November but will be looking at featuring for United in the home game against Bournemouth in midweek. The player will be looking to get back in form after seeing Jesse Lingard usurp him in the pecking order.

Mkhitaryan only joined Manchester United last summer in a £27m deal from Borussia Dortmund and was expected to fill up the creativity gap that was missing at the Theatre of Dreams. A typical assist master, Mkhitaryan earned rave reviews for his performances in the German Bundesliga and was expected to do the same for United. He struggled initially but later became one of the first names on the team sheet due to his excellent attacking instincts. He must show that he is a Manchester United kind of player by doing everything his manager wants.

The former Shakhtar Donestk midfielder is known for his vision, passing and finishing. He helped United win two trophies last term, playing a significant role in the Europa League triumph most especially.
