£17.8 million-rated star decides to quit Manchester United

Jose Mourinho spent about £150 in the last summer transfer market. He is expected to still spend so much when the transfer market comes alive in the summer but some of those monies may be raised through the sale of players.’

An array of stars including Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Luke Shaw have been linked with a move away from Old Trafford  but a recent report making the rounds in the media wave claims David De Gea has informed Jose Mourinho that he wants to continue his career with Real Madrid next season.

The Spanish shot-stopper was heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu outfit in the penultimate transfer market but the deal failed to pull through over a late fax. Since the departure of Iker Casillas the La Decima holders have to tabbed De Gea as his long term replacement.

De Gea was highly coveted by Manchester United before they completed a £17.8 million deal for him in the summer of 2011. He was signed as a the replacement for Edwin van der Sar but he has been living up to expectation ever since. A report by Daily Mail claims De Gea’s mind about his future is made up.

However, Madrid also have other targets in mind if a deal for United fails to pull through. For United, they would not want to lose their best goalkeeper as world class keepers are hard to come by.
