There has been divided opinions about Paul Pogba’s transfer fees and performances on the pitch since his world record transfer to Man United from Juventus last summer.
Pogba returned to Old Trafford after a four-year spell with the Old Lady, becoming the world’s costliest player following his £89 million switch back to United but his performances have not being commensurate with the hefty price paid for him, bringing him under criticism from a section of the fans and pundits.
Though he has always enjoyed the support of Jose Mourinho but it appears the United boss is beginning to lose his tolerance for his star acquisition.
And as revealed by the Mirror, Mourinho has been tipped off the edge by Pogba’s involvement in commercial activities which he believes are becoming a distraction for him and is affecting his performances on the pitch.
The Mirror claimed Mourinho lost his temper over the recent Twitter emoji incident Pogba got involved in, which coincided with Man United clash with Liverpool, and has told the French star to concentrate more on his performance on the pitch or risked being relegated to the bench if things stay the way they are now.
The 24-year-old prolific social media user had promoted his own emoji shortly before the draw with Liverpool at Old Trafford in January and was criticised for his performance in that match.
He spurned on opportunity to put United ahead in the first half and later drove his one-on-one effort wide. He worsen the situation with he inexplicably handled the ball resulting in a penalty kick converted by James Milner before Zlatan Ibrahimovic last gasp equalizer rescued a point for United.
Despite the warnings Pogba has remained very active online. United are not getting what we paid for in the player, though there has been flashes of what we could get if he focuses more on football.
