The coming to Jose Mourinho to Old Trafford did not favour some players but the exodus will continue at the end of this season.
Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney and Luke Shaw have been tipped with a move away from Old Trafford next season and Mourinho is going to tweak his current team with the signings of top-notch players.
Reports according to the Sun is the claim that Mourinho is looking to unleash £250m for the signing of five players. Among these targets are Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid and Romelu Lukaku of Everton.
With the exit of Wayne Rooney looming, Griezmann would walk into the legend’s shoe but Lukaku may not be able to displace Ibrahimovic instantly and he’s seen as a long term replace of the Swede.
Without much ado, we take a look at How United will line-up with Griezmann and Lukaku if the Red Devils succeeds in pulling deals for them.
Goalkeeper
David De Gea is the indisputable no.1 shot stopper and he is sure to retain his place in-between the sticks for United.
Defense
If they are able to stay fit, the pair of Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly seem perfect to man the heart of defense of the Red Devils. Valencia has done well as the back this term, so there’ll be no reason to put him on the bench. Meanwhile, Rojo was out of favour when Mourinho came in but the left back has played very well even as a centre back – the Argentine should be used permanently on the left back position.
Midfield
This is the most expensive aspect of Mourinho’s team. Nonetheless, Pogba thrives as a box to box midfielder and so, Ander Herrera should adapt to playing as the holding midfielder while they can have Antoine Griezmann play in front of the duo. Greizmann is adept at creating chances and scoring goals, he can play behind the striker or as the striker.
Attack
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has lived up to his bidding this season but at 35, he may not be able to replicate his current form next season. Lukaku can play as the lead attack and he would be flanked by Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial next season.
This will be achieved in a 4-1-2-3 formation.
