We will be looking to confirm our qualification to the Round of 16 of the Champion League with a result against Russian giants, CSKA Moscow. The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Basel last time out, and we will be confident of victory given that we beat them away in Russia earlier in the campaign.
With the Manchester derby coming up this weekend, Jose Mourinho will be looking to rest a number of players tonight at Old Trafford. Here are 11 players that could start the game against the Russians.
Goalkeeper
Mourinho has confirmed that David de Gea will not be in the matchday squad. The Spanish hotshot was in fine form against Arsenal over the weekend, and will be rested for this clash. Sergio Romero will start the game.
Defence
A number of players are to be rested for this clash. At right back, Matteo Darmian should come in for this one as he has really struggled for game time. In the heart of defence, Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof should feature in this clash. Lindelof has looked good in recent matches after a difficult start to life at The Theatre of Dreams.
At left back, Daley Blind should get to start. The Holland International has lost his place to veteran player, Ashley Young who has made that position his own.
Midfield
Ander Herrera will be confident of playing this game given that he has struggled for game time this season. Last season’s Player of the Year has lost his place to summer signing, Nemanja Matic but should play tonight at Old Trafford. Paul Pogba will start the game given his red card in the clash against Arsenal. Both men will play in the pivot of the midfield.
Further forward, Marcus Rashford should play on the left of an attacking midfield trident while in the hole behind the striker, Juan Mata should get to play. On the right, Henrikh Mkhitaryan will look to play himself back to the thoughts of his manager who has lost faith in him recently.
Attack
Anthony Martial will be looking to build on his performance against Arsenal with a commanding performance against CSKA Moscow. The 21 year old France international is back to his best after a difficult campaign last time out and will fancy his chances of getting a goal or two.
Probable lineup: Romero, Darmian, Lindelof, Rojo, Blind, Herrera, Pogba, Rashford, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Martial
