Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial has reportedly told his agent to try and sort out a new contract for him at Old Trafford. The 23-year-old Frenchman has enjoyed a renaissance at United this season, scoring 8 Premier League goals so far already.
The player had been linked with a move away from the Theatre of Dreams in recent weeks following issues with Jose Mourinho but has regained the form that made him so highly sought after while he was at Monaco.
It seems that the player is ready to commit to a new long-term deal at the club following the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. According to The Mirror, Martial’s agent, Philippe Lamboley has been instructed to negotiate a deal worth around £150k-a-week, which is double his current wages.
The likes of Juventus and PSG have previously been linked with a move for Martial, but interest from both European heavyweights have cooled off. He had previously shelved talks over a new deal earlier in the season due to his rocky relationship with Mourinho.
He spoke recently about his joy of working under Solskjaer, saying and said: ‘I’m happy, because I’m playing more now this season than I was previously. So hopefully that can continue. ‘I want to continue scoring goals and obviously that will have the effect of helping the team, so as long as I’m playing I am very happy.’
