Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to express our satisfaction about the news that broke out on Tuesday that the club is ever closer to signing PSG winger, Lucas Moura as reports suggest that the Brazilian has agreed personal terms with the club. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder is keen to leave Paris in a bid to find regular first team action, as he has only managed 72 minutes of league football this season.
The arrivals of the likes of Mbappe and Cavani have pushed the player to a peripheral role at the club and he is keen to leave the club to resurrect his career.
For much of last summer Jose Mourinho prioritised the addition of a direct, pacy winger but Inter Milan proved firm in their stance of not letting Ivan Perisic leave San Siro, though the Portuguese may get his wish in the form of Lucas Moura. The player’s stock has fallen in recent years due to a lack of game time and form loss, but on his way can cause trouble for any defence in world football with his trickery and dribbling. Below are some of the best tweets by United fans urging the club to wrap up the deal.
Would happily take Lucas Moura right now. People forget he's only 25 and we're seriously lacking depth upfront #mufc

This time last year any United fan would have been delighted with Lucas Moura. I've been saying to sign him for years, really don't see the negativity around it. He's exactly what's needed down the right wing. #MUFC

If Theo Walcott is £20m then Lucas Moura is an absolute steal for £25m #MUFC

PSG paid 40m for Lucas. He hasnt impressed that much in the French league, so not sure about this deal. It does not excite me like it would have in 2012. We do need a right sided winger though. #manutd #mufc #lucasmoura #transfer

Lucas Moura was a exciting 19 year old back in 2012. I remember SAF wanted him. In Brazil he would do tricks & flicks, dribble past 5 players. Was quiet angry that he snubbed us for PSG. #mufc #manutd

United should go for Lucas Moura. He's 25, not a bad scoring record along with assists. Another good attacking option for the team. He'd be able to play with UTD in UCL also. 25m is good for him. Don't see any negatives about a transfer for him #mufc

Are people serious when they say they wouldnt take lucas Moura for €25 mill lol absolute bargain, we need a threat on the right and he comes with that in abundance #MUFC
I'd be delighted, it's no marquee but brilliant piece of business at that price

I wouldn’t mind if Lucas moura joined us I think we need more options out wide his age isn’t a problem and price tag for him is decent he brings pace going forwards which United do and he also brings a winning mentality #MUFC

The only snag about the deal is that we want a loan deal till the end of the season with an option to buy while his club want an outright sale of around £35m to help their quest to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations. Unai Emery, the PSG coach doesn’t think too highly of him and feels he is dispensable at the club given that they boast a number of other star players to negate his departure.
Moura will add directness to our team as we currently don’t have natural wingers that can stretch opposition defenders and whip in good crosses from the flanks.
Moura has scored 45 goals in 228 appearances for Les Rouge-et-Bleu since joining in January 2013
