Manchester United progressed to the 4th round of the FA Cup after a 2-0 victory over Championship high flyers, Derby County at Old Trafford on Friday night. The game looked destined for a replay until Romelu Lukaku took the game by the scruff of the neck to calm down nerves at The Theatre of Dreams.
The 24-year-old Belgian striker was only making his first appearance since the goalless draw against Burnley where he suffered a nasty head injury and was on the bench against Hart Rowett’s team. Lukaku scored one and created one as United made a late show of it to keep our hopes up of winning a record equalling 13th FA Cup title.
Lukaku has been much maligned in recent weeks after a remarkable drop in form but has been unequivocally backed by his manager and it seems the results are starting to show once again. Fans took to social media platform, Twitter to comment about the former Everton man’s performance, with many impressed with his display given that he came off the bench to make the difference. Lukaku is looking to get back to his early season form that saw him net a remarkable 11 goals in his first 10 matches for the club, a new club record. Here are the best tweets as regards his performance.
I was saying before the season started and we'd even signed Lukaku that I'd prefer him over Morata and think he's a all around better player and that he'd score more than both Morata and Lacazette this season, Big Rom proving me right ??? #MUFC

The 6ft 3in striker, who joined Manchester United from Everton back in the summer for a reported £75 million, has looked good in certain spells, though he must be consistent enough to show he’s worthy to be regarded as United’s number 1 striker.
With all the ingredients to succeed at the club around him, Lukaku is still expected to come good for us and fire us to the trophies we desperately need.
Absolute game changers, Lukaku!!
lets give him time
