Ivan Rakitic’s agent, Arturo Canales, has suggested that his client could join the Premier League in the near future. The former Sevilla man has been identified by Jose Mourinho as the man to get the best out of world record signing, Paul Pogba, as per Sun.
The 28-year-old has been in fine form since swapping Seville for Barcelona, and has grown into one of the best midfielders in the world. Arturo Canales, the player’s representative has said there is no chance of the Croatia international leaving Camp Nou soon this summer, insisting he is happy with Los Cules.
Via the Daily Mail, Canales was quoted as saying: “Ivan is very happy at FC Barcelona, where he has been tremendously successful and has a contract with the club until 2019. “Ivan loves football and is only 28 years old,”
“Having played in Switzerland, Germany and Spain, who knows if one day he’ll be ready to have an experience in England, but for now he’s a FC Barcelona player.” he added.
The Sun, last week, suggested that the player may be open to a move to England at this stage of his career. It also reports that Jose Mourinho may be willing to sign the player from Barcelona.
He has won eight trophies since his Barcelona move two summers ago, and his over 120 appearances shows he knows his stuff. Brought in to replace Xavi, though he played alongside the legendary midfielder for a year, Rakitic has slotted in seamlessly into the system at Barcelona.
He is a central midfielder who has attributes to also play as a defensive midfielder, deep-lying playmaker and attacking midfielder. He boasts a wide array of skills which enable him to slot into different positions and play different roles on the pitch said.
Rakitic offers a mix between the attacking and defending aspects of his game, and would help the United team. Though his agent says his heart is still with Barcelona, things change very quickly in football.
