The 2017/18 season had been fantastic for Manchester United last season and it is about to get better for the Red Devils as the pair of Luke Shaw and Ashley Young continued their recovery from injury and are in line to face the 2015/16 champions, Leicester City at old Trafford this weekend. Both players have been out of action since last season and manager, Jose Mourinho would be pleased to see both of them home out unscathed in a U-23 clash against Swansea.

Luke Shaw, the England left back is facing a pivotal season at Old Trafford and will hope that this season is the last he will go through before re-establishing himself as the first choice defender in that department. He suffered a foot injury in April last year and missed pre-season alongside former England international, Young but both players looked sharp in the match against the Swans. Mourinho will be pleased to have the pair back as they offer him more squad depth as United look to challenge for four trophies including the Champions League and Premier League.

United have won the opening two matches of the season, which have been impressive 4-0 victories over West Ham and Young and Shaw could be in line for appearances against Leicester as they continue their recoveries from injuries.

Young suffered an hamstring injury in the Europa League semifinal against Celta Vigo, and his attitude is a big factor that makes Mourinho like him. He is a valuable squad member who will give his all whenever the manager wants him and won’t cause any trouble if he doesn’t play regularly.

Young is a right winger by trade but has developed into a utility player that can also play as a defender while Shaw is a left back that is known to possess blistering pace and is also a capable defender.
