Manchester United have been handed a huge transfer boost as the President of Lazio has stated that sought-after Serbian midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could leave the Stadio Olimpico sooner rather than later.
The 23-year-old powerhouse has become one of the best players in the Serie A during his time with Lazio and has attracted interest from a host of top clubs in Europe including PSG, Juventus and Manchester United.
The likes of AC Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested in the 6ft 3in midfielder, who is the brightest prospect to come out of Serbia in recent years. Lazio president Claudio Lotito has refused to rule out a move away from Rome for the in-demand player.
Speaking exclusively to Calciomercatoweb, Lotito said, “In today’s football, it’s difficult for a player to tie himself to just one club for the rest of his career, but at Lazio we are doing well. Our players show great affection to the club. Milinkovic-Savic? Unfortunately, Lazio don’t have the same economic potential as Barcelona and Real Madrid. When the conditions are on our side and an offer you can’t refuse arrives, then we will face the matter.”
Manchester United are one of the teams interested in signing the player and are ready to sanction a bid north of £80m for the player. Milinkovic-Savic is a midfielder that is known for his all-round play in the middle of the park, he joined Lazio in 2015 and has since made 133 appearances, scoring 26 times.
