12 years ago today David May led the celebrations in Barcelona as United completed the famous final leg of the treble. Today, he previews Saturday’s Champions League Final against Barcelona for 7Cantonas.com.
Now onto a little thing called the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL!!!! Against apparently the best team to have ever played the game, well that’s definitely arguable in my opinion.
All teams can be beaten, ok they are an outstanding side with incredible talents and they do have the world’s best player in Messi but so what!!! It’s a squad game these days, the best teams and players don’t always win, things go wrong, there are crazy decisions in the game and that’s why we all love and watch football.
People have slagged us off all season and we have won the league!!! So let them say we can’t win, what I do know is the Gaffer and all his players will be trying their best and you just never know….. A screamer from Wazza, a poacher’s goal from the Little Pea, a perfect cross from Giggsy, these things do happen. We just have to BELIEVE!!!!!!!
The United Nights event for the final has sold out. If you have not reserved a ticket or bought one online you will not get in. United Nights starts at 5pm, upstairs at the Walkabout in Manchester.
The food will be out at 5pm, it is a limited buffet, the players will be on from around 6 till 7, then the big screens will put Sky on for all the build up and then the match. Make sure you are in by 7pm!!!
The raffle will take place at half time.
I am working in London but it will still be a superb night and the best place to watch the game if you can’t get to Wembley.
Score Prediction : We’re going to win 3-2!
Head to head prediction : As part of a new feature we’ll be implementing full time next season, Rebecca and Yolkie go head to head to predict their line ups for the big game.
