David May Preview: Chelsea

It was an odd week, on one hand we keep conceding early goals, which is never a good sign but on the other we were the only British team to pick up any points in the Champions League.

The United Nights Facebook and Twitter pages were getting plenty of stick when we went 2-0 down against Braga but then as we often do we produced one of the Gaffers famous comebacks and shut the doubters up. I was delighted to see Chicharito not only scoring a couple of goals but also looking like his old self.

Some fans had been a little worried he might have lost his confidence or even that goal poaching instinct but he proved on Tuesday he’s coming back into form. This does however give the Gaffer a headache upfront but it’s always better to have too many good players than not enough. (Just ask Brendan Rodgers!!!)

Onto the Chelsea game and it has hopefully come at the right time for us. I know our recent record at Stamford Bridge is not the best but we would have had a few more wins there over the years if some of the Refereeing had been up to scratch. They were out played in mid-week and still look a little inconsistent. Di Matteo has done a great job so far but he has a similar problem to the Gaffer, too many good players. They have a lot of creativity in the side with Hazard, Oscar and Mata. Each one knows how to unlock any defence and our lads will have to be on their toes at the back. I am glad Rio had a rest in mid-week because he’s going to have to be on top form against the Blues. I remember RVP scoring plenty against them when he used to play for the Gunners so let’s hope that continues on Sunday and we pick up all three points!!!!

Score Prediction : United to win 3-1!
