David May Preview : Chelsea game

David May Preview : Chelsea game

After a brief sabbatical Maysie is back to preview the huge game against Chelsea.

Well first of all I better start with my superb prediction for the Wigan game, not only did I tell you the score but I also gave you the name of the opening scorer. Come on now that is impressive, I hope you all got rich and you’re reading this on a beach somewhere!!!

Onto the Chelski game, this is massive for both clubs. They have had a crazy season and Carlo must be asking his players “Where did it all go wrong”. They started off the campaign on fire hitting six at home to the Baggies and then another six away to Wigan. Loads of people out there will say they are only small clubs but it was the way they beat them and that led to victories over Arsenal and Marseille. It’s all about confidence with players, you can be the best in the world but if you don’t believe in your abilities then things just won’t go your way. Look at Torres this season, he is an amazing player that at times you think he would score in every game but at the moment it’s just not happening, let’s hope that continues for a little longer. However we can not underestimate Chelski, they will want to beat United more than any other club in the League. Terry will be shouting and adjusting his armband at every opportunity, Essien will leave his foot in and Drogba will be diving all over the place to get decisions.

The Gaffer will be expecting all that though and he knows how to approach these big games. I would expect us to play with five in midfield that can turn into three upfront when we attack. This has worked well in the past against Arsenal and away in Europe so with a little tweaking I think it can be effective against Roman’s Army. I see Berba upfront on his own with the little pea on the bench, ready to come on and freshen things up with twenty minutes to go. I have got to be honest with you, Chicharito is looking even better than I thought he would at this stage in his United career and you never know he might just have another say in what happens at the Bridge!!

Danger Man: Frank Lampard

Frank has scored a few goals over the years against us and he seems to be coming back into form after an injury hit season. Our midfield will have to keep their concentration for the entire game because it only takes a second, one run not tracked and the ball ends up in the back of our net. He demonstrated that perfectly in Moscow. I would expect Fletch or Carrick to do that job and if we can keep him quiet then we have a great chance of getting a decent result.

Score prediction : We are going to win 1-0.  Vida header from a corner, COME ON UNITED!!!!
