David May Preview: Everton

David May Preview: Everton

Games against Everton are always tough, even when we have ended up scoring a few goals against them we have had to work extremely hard for any type of result. David Moyes deserves so much credit for what he has done at Goodison and although he hasn’t won a trophy they came close to reaching the FA Cup Final last weekend against Liverpool and his budget is nowhere near the size of that at Anfield. Players like Osman, Anichebe, Hibbert, Gibson may not catch everyone’s eye but they always give 100% on the pitch, have great team spirit and never give up. Fortunately our manager instils the same attributes in our side and we have a little more quality to go with it.

(Last years winner)

It’s great to see Nani back, he provides a spark of creativity just when we need it, Wazza will be fired up against his old team and after a week’s rest the Ginger Prince will run the midfield!!!! He and Carrick work so well together and their form along with players like Jonny Evans and Valencia stepping up to the mark are the main reasons we currently sit top of the League. It’s such an important game because even though my prediction between City and Wolves is 1-1, City might just scrape another victory which will leave us needing to beat the Toffees. It would be great to go into the game at Eastlands 5 points clear and with everything that entails.  COME ON UNITED!

Danger man: Nikica Jelavic

It is always a gamble taking a striker from Scotland, some players can score a hat full of goals for Celtic or Rangers but then not cut it in England. A few do prove to be the exception like our loan legend Henrik Larsson!!! I am not saying Jelavic is in his class but he knows where the onion bag is. He scored 30 goals in 45 games for Rangers and David Moyes contacts in Scotland must have been right on the blower, at around 7 Million he has picked up a bargain. Jelavic has already scored 5 goals for the Toffees and missed a few sitters, so it shows he is getting into the right positions. Everton don’t create that many chances so he must be doing something right, let’s hope he has an off day against us!!!!

Score Prediction : United are gonna win 3-1 against  Everton, Wazza with one or two against his old club!

The next United Nights event is on Saturday May 5th, the night before the final home game of the season against Swansea. Gary Pallister will be in attendance at a very special evening that will feature the announcement of the inaugural MUISA Player Of The Year Award. You can buy tickets online here.
