David May Preview: Liverpool (FA Cup)

David May previews the big FA Cup game at Anfield. At the end of the blog, check for a special competition prize – we are offering two tickets to United Nights on February 10th, the evening before the Liverpool game in the league.

The big games just keep on coming and so far I have got two prediction right in a row, is it possible a third might be on the cards…? No chance. But I will try. My blog is a little different this week because it’s the FA Cup and I have had less time as I am sorting out the next United Night for Friday 10th Feb when we happen to be playing the Scousers again. I have left my blog up from last week so that anyone new to the site will see how we usually do it!

Ok, here are my thoughts on our trip to Anfield… It looks like it might be a cagey game with one goal winning it either way. They are better defending than they are going forward and Suarez has proved a big miss for them, especially while the 35 Million pound man isn’t firing. Just a quick side note: That Torres/Carroll transfer only seemed to work out well for Newcastle, they have both been rubbish for an entire year. Just goes to show our Gaffer is always right, don’t make silly buys in January because they can very often go t*ts up!!!

I can see us going into the game with a similar team that beat Arsenal, that does of course depend on injuries and to be honest I am not quite sure who is fit, who isn’t and who the manager wants us to think is and isn’t fit (If you get what I mean!). The mind games must have started early this year, whatever side steps onto the pitch they will be well up for it, this is one of the biggest games of the season, it will have an incredible atmosphere and the players will love it. COME ON UNITED!

The United Nights prediction is…..  UNITED TO WIN 1-0, WITH A LATE WINNER FROM GIGGSY!

Buy tickets for the United Nights event at the official website, and follow them on Twitter.

We are running a competition to give away 2 free tickets to the United Nights event on Friday 10th February. It will be occuring at Walkabout, off Deansgate in Manchester – full details will be on the official United Nights website. To be in with a chance of winning, simply tweet us @7Cantonas with your favourite memory of Manchester United at Anfield – we’ll pick the winner at random and announce it on the website in the coming days.
