David May Preview : Liverpool

David May Preview : Liverpool

Finally the Internationals are over and we can get back to some proper football. Liverpool away on Saturday lunchtime then City at Old Trafford next Sunday. It doesn’t get much bigger or better than that. The gaffer has had a couple of weeks to plan and prepare for this game, I think he will be telling the lads to get back to basics. Defend properly for the whole game and let the front four cause them all kinds of problems.

We have been far to open recently and we don’t have to be. Wazza, Chicharito, Nani and Young will create enough chances and score enough goals to win most matches. Don’t get me wrong I would still send the centre backs up for corners and let the two centre midfielders push on when they can (especially if Cleverley is back) but let’s play the game right and pick up our first win at Anfield since 2007!!!!

A lot of people have been emailing into the United Nights Facebook page asking if Phil Jones can play in midfield, if he is the missing link since Keano left and whether the gaffer will play him in there. Well I definitely think he could do a decent job and my team for the weekend would include him in a three man midfield with Anderson and Cleverley. Then have Wazza, Young and Nani floating around upfront. The Little Pea can always come off the bench to make an impact with half an hour to go when Carragher is tired.

It’s a very important few weeks at the club because two defeats and it will be doom and gloom, two wins and we will have won the League by Christmas and most probably four points from these fixtures will keep everyone happy and things ticking over nicely. One thing is for sure, no one will be able to predict what’s going to happen (I will still try), there’s going to be controversial moments, rubbish refs and great goals!!!! I LOVE THE PREMIER LEAGUE!!!!!!!!!!

Dangerman: Luis Suarez

Now I hate to say it but this boy can play. He can also dive so our defence will have to make sure they don’t get tempted to stick out a foot in or around the penalty area. Rio, Vida and Evra should be fine but one of the younger lads will be playing right back and trust me that isn’t always the easiest role to fill. I think if we concentrate a little more than we have been doing recently at the back we should be able to keep Suarez pretty quiet and hopefully grab a late winner at the other end.  (Anyone else remember Mr O’Shea, Happy Days!!!!)

Prediction : United are gonna win 0-1  with a late Vidic header!!!!

United Nights next event is on Saturday, October 22nd and United legends Alex Stepney and Paddy Crerand will be in attendance. Buy your tickets online at United Nights.
