David May Preview: Wolves

David May previews this weekend’s Premier League fixture with Wolves.

One word sums up this week- NIGHTMARE! I still can’t belive we didn’t make it through that group and Vidic getting injured just makes it worse. He is our captain, one of the best defenders in Europe and his partnership with Rio was going to be key for us this season. Now we need one of the younger lad’s to step up, at least it means Jones and Smalling will get a lot more experiance this season and hopefully that will be good news for the future. I have got to be honest and say we didn’t deserve to get any further in the competition. Some good news is that the beer is cheaper in Bucharest than Munich!!!

Enough about that, onto Wolverhampton and they had a mad summer selling their best players, getting a new manager that no one wanted and then they had a sluggish start to the season. You can see why most of the fans have a problem with Alex McLeish but once he was given the job you might as well get behind the team. The problem he has is every time they get a bad result a section of the support will call for his head and that helps no one. They currently sit eighth in the Premier League table which I think is about right for a club the size of Wolves. His squad seems pretty small, they don’t spend money like City or Chelsea and it’s always hard to compete with teams like us, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool. So a good campaign would see them finish top half of the table.

Danger man: Jamie O’Hara

This boy has got bags of energy, a decent shot and is creative at that level. He takes a lot of set pieces for Wolves, which can be very important for an organised side fighting relegation. I don’t think he was ever going to get into the Spurs side on a regular basis so I think the move was best for everybody. However I do think he has the quality to play for a mid-table team like Villa or Everton. Maybe he will get a move in a few years because struggling with Mick McCarthy every season isn’t ideal.

Prediction : United are gonna win 2-0 against Wolves,Nani and Wazza with the goals!
