David May Preview : Manchester City

David May Preview : Manchester City

I said last week I would take a draw at Liverpool, a win in Europe and then a win against City at Old Trafford. Well, we are on course to do all three.

I know some people weren’t happy with the result on Sunday but as I said on Facebook we were playing at Anfield not Aldershot. They are a decent side these days with a few good players. Ok, it seemed like the Gaffer had picked a strange side but a lot of people wanted to see Jones in centre midfield to see how he would handle it and I thought he did OK. I must admit I was surprised to see Wazza on the bench but then he scored two in midweek and he will be flying for the derby!

I have got good memories and bad ones of our games against City over the years. People often remember November 1993 when we came from 2-0 down to win and King Eric was incredible, then there was the 5-0 in 1994 with Andrei’s Hat-trick. They will always bring up the time they won 5-1 in 1989 but that was a long time ago and a few things have changed since then.

Having said that they seem to think winning the League is a possibility this season and as Chelski have showed you can buy success in football. Well our gaffer will have something to say about that, he’s not just going to roll over and let them walk away with our title, we will stand and fight and I for one still see us coming out on top! As for the game on Sunday, I think it will be tight with one goal either way deciding it.

I would love to say it’s going to be a classic like the 4-3 a few years ago, (We went mad when Owen got the winner) but Mancini is Italian and has a cagey side to him. He will pack the midfield and try to hit us on the break. I think our lads will prepare for that, take and early lead an then hopefully finish them off in the second half! COME ON UNITED!

Dangerman: Sergio Aguero

I had seen him play quite a lot for Atletico Madrid and I always thought he looked pretty good, very skilful with an eye for goal and an impressive work rate. Since he has joined City I am sad to say nothing has changed my opinion. He’s settled into the team quicker than anyone could have expected, created and scored goals. However said all that I have seen a lot of players come to England start well then fade away, let’s just hope that happens to him!!!!!

Score prediction : United are gonna win 2-1, Wazza to score first!
