David May Preview: Norwich City

We are playing this game in late February and Norwich are 8th in the Premier League. WOW!!!
What an incredible job Paul Lambert has done, I thought they might do pretty well this season and stay up but that was due to Wigan, Wolves and Blackburn all having their problems.

However they are  performing week after week and find themselves above well established teams like Everton and Aston Villa. It will be interesting to see how they perform next season when a few more managers have figured them out but my guess is they will go from strength to strength. The Canaries don’t just work hard, they have a lot more quality than that, Lambert has spotted players in the lower leagues that he thinks will be able to step up a level or two and they have definitely rewarded his faith.

Guys like Pilkington, Morison, Ruddy and Holt all had scouts watch them over the years and now they are proving it doesn’t always take mega money to create a decent team.

One thing I was disappointed with Norwich about this season was their lack of ambition in the FA Cup last weekend, I know Paul Lambert will have is priorities to stay in the League but they had Leicester City at home. I watched his pre-match press conference and straight away I knew they would lose. He wasn’t going to risk his top players like Holt or Ruddy and they have ended up missing a great chance to get to Wembley. A lot of the big boys have been knocked out and they might have had Birmingham in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup, what an opportunity that would have been!

Anyway enough about Delia’s boys, we are going into this game in good form, we have a great record at Carrow Road, (I remember the 3-1 demolition in 1993, what a display that was) and I think a big win is on the cards. Hopefully Tevez’s return will knock City out of their stride and a 20th League Title will be just around the corner!

Danger man: Grant Holt

He’s big, he’s strong and he knows where the back of the net is. Enough Said.

Prediction : United are gonna win 4-1 against Norwich and I expect the Little Pea will get at least two of them!!!!!
