David May Preview: Queens Park Rangers

The last few weeks just go to show how mad football can be and that’s why we all love it, we never know what’s going to happen. If you had asked a fan of any team a month ago who would be top at Christmas they would have all said City, well  now we have a great chance of proving them wrong.

If we beat QPR which I expect us to do and then the Gunners do us a favour we will be top going into the New Year! That would be a great boost for the Gaffer, his staff, the players and all the fans. I know the Gaffer will never use it as an excuse but it has not been easy with all the injuries. He might even treat us all to a late Christmas present by going shopping in the January sales!

I thought we were fantastic last weekend against Wolves, Nani and Wazza were always a threat, we were more solid and Jones just keeps getting better and better. I think we will play a very similar side against QPR, I like two up front, it gives Wazza and the wingers more space going forward which as we saw last weekend they can take full advantage of. I think Neil Warnock is doing a pretty good job, it helped that Tony Fernandes came in just before the season started so he was able to improve his squad with the likes of Barton, Wright-Phillips and Anton Ferdinand or I think they really would have struggled. I would expect them to maybe buy a few more next month and then finish around mid-table.

I want to take this time to say get well soon to Fletch, if anyone can come back stronger and better it is him, he is one of the most determined lad’s I have ever met. Keep the faith!

Danger man: Shaun Wright-Phillips

When I first saw Shaun I thought he was going to have an incredible career in the game, he has lightning pace, great energy, a decent shot and loads of quality. On his day he should walk into any team in the country. But like many wingers he doesn’t have enough good days. I still think he can make it a big club but it never seemed to work out at City or Chelski so QPR might turn out to be his level. For his sake I hope he finds his form and proves the other clubs wrong. I think so long as Smalling and Evra concentrate and try to get Shaun going back towards his own goal we will be fine on Sunday.

Score prediction : United are gonna win 3-1 against Q.P.R.   (With a pound on Jones to score anytime).
