David May Preview : West Brom vs Manchester United

IT’S BACK!!!!! Seems like we have been looking forward to the opening day of the season forever!!! I know everyone needs a summer break but we don’t have to enjoy it. Maybe it seemed even longer because there wasn’t a World Cup or Euro’s to keep us entertained. I would have gone crazy if those bloody riots and looters had ended up getting the games called off. What a bunch of losers!!!!!!

The gaffer has done some great business over the summer, Jones is an exceptional young player, De Gea will need time to settle in but his potential is incredible, if he can learn off some of the best coaches in the world at Carrington, he really could be our keeper for the foreseeable future. Ashley Young was a must, he has proved himself in the Premier League and will only improve with better players around him. His set pieces are very consistent, Nani will either hit row Z or the back of the net so we needed someone else to chip in every now and then. Oh and if we get Sneijder and it looks like we might – We will – have won the league by Christmas!!!!!!

Roy Hodgson did an unbelievable job at the Hawthorne’s last season, he was never given a real chance by the Scousers and so I am glad he is doing well. I thought at the time he might have been coming back to early and maybe to the wrong club but as he proved with Fulham he is a very good, solid football manager. I expect them to finish mid-table this season, which would be another great year. Last season we were lucky to win at West Brom but after the way we performed in the Community Shield I can’t see us having any problems, it’s always great to beat City and we did it in typical United fashion. Good luck to the boys in red!

Dangerman: Peter Odemwingie

There is some doubt as to whether he is fit for the first game but I think not only is he crucial for the Baggies this weekend but for the whole season, he is definitely there key man. Putting the ball in the back of the net is the hardest thing to do and he proved last year that he knows where the goal is. Similar to our little pea, he was a surprise package, caught a few defences off guard and ended up with a decent goal tally. Vida and Rio will have to be on their toes otherwise he might just grab a consolation or two for the Baggies!!!!

Prediction : United to win 4-2 – Nani with the first goal of the season!
