Good news: club welcomes Man United’s interest in Nemanja Matic, replacement already signed

 By Dave Marshall

Manchester United may step up their pursuit of Chelsea midfielder, Nemanja Matic, in the coming days as the Sun reports that club president, Roman Abramovich, has sanctioned the transfer of the 28 year old defensive midfield maestro to Old Trafford.

Matic has been on Jose Mourinho’s shortlist of players, and has been left behind in England while the rest of the squad travelled to Asia for their pre-season tour. The former Benfica man has set his sights on a reunion with former Chelsea boss, Mourinho as his days at Stamford Bridge look numbered following the big -money arrival of Tiemoue Bajayoko.

The Sun believes that Abramovich has stamped his seal of approval on the deal quoted in the region of £50 million as he feels it is a huge fee for a player the coach can do without and nearing the grand age of 30.

Despite being an integral part of Chelsea’s title winning squad last season, head coach, Antonio Conte is believed not to be a big fan of his ability, as he prefers players that are extremely mobile and can put in a hard graft for the team in the middle of the park, attributes in abundance with Bakayoko.

An initial bid of around £35m is reported to have been rejected by the Premier League champions, though it is expected that the Red Devils will now bid closer to the £50m mark to fend off interest from Juventus and Inter Milan, as the Italian giants have been linked to the anchorman.

Matic endured a roller-coaster relationship with Mourinho at Chelsea, but he may want to follow Romelu Lukaku’s footstep, who reunited with the boss despite sanctioning his transfer to Everton in the summer of 2014.

Under the Portuguese tutelage, Matic won the league and League Cup both in 2015, as he helped the Blues win their first league title in 5 years. He was signed by Mourinho in 2014, and has since made 151 appearances for the West London outfit, scoring on 7 occasions.

I prefer if Man Utd offer such a huge amount of money to get Fabinho who is only 23 and very strong as well as versatile

I really do not like the talks about Magic..WTF!
We rather make use of those in our possessions than getting Matic. Herrera is still vibrant, Fellaini and ofcource the promise Perreira
