United’s match programme for the visit of Grimsby Town.
The 1929–30 season was Manchester United’s 34th season in the Football League.
United’s failing fortunes continued – for the fifth consecutive year, the average attendance dropped, though this was at least partly attributed to high unemployment rates. The club, consequently, were in serious financial trouble, with only the late avoidance of relegation and an away win at Manchester City bringing high spots under the under fire Bamlett.
