Was at that match too. Sailed from Dublin to Wales the Saturday morning then drove up to Sale to stay at the Amblehurst hotel. While there we met Paul Pogba and his mum who did nothing but eat. Next morning, the day of the match, my brother in law got news that his dad had died. In shock and tears he was ready to go home there and then but persuasion from me, friends and his family back in Ireland made him stay for the match. We all got the taxi down to Old Trafford about 11.00 and the atmosphere was buzzing inside and out, Tevez was going to get one hell of a reception. On the way in we met Tugay the blackburn legend who was happy to let us photograph with. As ststed above the match was end to end and twist and turns with the unlikeliest of heroes in Owen, though Giggs was superb on the day. Going home my brother in law got a flight home while the rest of us returned to the hotel. Back at the hotel Macheda and Paddy Crerand came and had a chat and pics and the beer flowed. But despite all the fun and excitement it still remains the day that my friend and “brother” lost his dad. @gavted
