After playing for several top European clubs in Italy, Spain, and France, the combative striker joined the Red Devils on a free transfer last term but he has exceeded the expectation leveled on him. The 35-year-old goal poacher is currently fourth on the goal scorer’s chat of of the EPL with 17 goals.
Ibrahimovic was handed just a year’s contract but given his impressive cameos for the Red Devils, he is being offered an extension. However, the Swede god has informed Man United that he will only put pen to paper on another deal if the qualify for the Champions League of next season, reports the Mirror.
United are currently sitting fifth on the Premier League log with a game in hand and four points adrift Manchester City in fourth position. The Red Devils also have an outside chance in the Europa win for qualification. Should they win the Europa title, they will earn an automatic spot for Europe’s most prestigious football competition.
Ibrahimvic has offers from the Chinese League and the MLS but there is no telling where he will end up after his spell at Old Trafford. Nonetheless, Mourinho has been keeping tabs on Romelu Lukaku and other star strikers as probable replacement for Ibra.
