Manchester United have been handed a huge injury boost on the fitness of Eric Bailly if the picture Ander Herrera uploaded on social media is anything to go by. The 23-year-old has been out injured since last month with an ankle injury and was expected to be out until at least March, but this latest update about his fitness means he could be closer to a return earlier than expected.
The Ivory Coast International, who was the very first signing of the José Mourinho era is continuing rehabilitation on his injury and was not part of the warm weather camp in Dubai as he was left home in Manchester. United tried to use conservative treatment on Bailly in a bid to aid his return, but it was not working leading him to undergo surgery.
Herrera, the Spanish midfielder who won our Player of the Year award last season posted an Instagram video, which showed Bailly running in a pool, with Herrera captioning the story, “Come on Eric Bailly, not long left.”

In his absence, the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling have been impressive while summer signing, Victor Lindelof is slowly getting to grips with the intensity and level of the Premier League.
Mourinho will hope that Bailly returns to full fitness and help our cause to end the season with a flourish. The classy centre back was signed from Villareal for £32m and has currently played 48 matches for us, scoring once, winning the EFL Cup and Europa League.
