Insider confirms United’s interest in £250,000-a-week star forward- report
The father of Barcelona superstar, Neymar Junior, has confirmed that there was interest from Manchester United in the 24-year-old Brazil international. Neymar was the subject of a protracted contract renewal saga with the Catalan giants over the summer but has since put pen to paper on a new, improved five-year deal, which sees him take home £250k-per-week.
The likes of Manchester United and PSG were monitoring events at the Camp Now, with the English giants ready to bankroll a world-record move for the player.Real Madrid were also interested in signing one of Barcelona’s famous attacking Trident. El Mundo Deportivo, via sporting witness, quotes Neymar Santos Sr. as saying: “It would be flippant and reckless of me to talk about proposals. Of course, they can make some inquiries.

“We had a proposal in the summer of 2015, after Manchester United made a proposal to Barcelona.”

Neymar joined Los Cules in the summer of 2013, after being rated as one of the best young players in the world, while at Santos in Brazil. In 14 games, he has scored six goals and laid on ten assists for his teammates, showing a much improved creative nature.

Neymar is an exceptional left winger, who is fantastic at dribbling. He possesses exceptional finishing, creativity and positional awareness in equal measure. In over 3 years at Barcelona, he has scored 91 goals in 154 appearances and has scored 50 times in just 74 matches for the Brazil national team. There is high hope for Neymar at Barcelona, that after Messi’s era of dominance, he will step up to the plate and usher in another level of success, in the same manner Messi delivered after the exit of Ronaldinho.

Manchester United may still continue to pursue Neymar, and for the Brazilian, a fresh challenge may seem appealing. Despite all these speculations, Neymar may still move and establish himself as a football great, outside the imposing shadow of Lionel Messi.
