Despite the enormous amount of money spent in the last summer transfer market, Jose Mourinho has found life tough in the Premier League this season.
Mourinho sanctioned a record breaking deal for French star Paul Pogba but he spent over £150m to bolster his squad. The Portuguese manager was not only involved in the buying of players, he sold quite a few of the Red Devils stars.
However, recent reports have indicated that Jose Mourinho has beckoned the management of Manchester United in other to offer contract extension to Belgian international midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
Since the appointment of Jose Mourinho as the coach of the Red Devils, the former Everton man has managed to muster only 13 starts in the Premier League but Mourinho appears to still want him his team.
Man United are uncertain of the future of Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick. The aforementioned stars are likely to exit Old Trafford in the summer. It will be wise for Mourinho to retain the midfielders he has.
Fellaini reportedly signed a one-year contract extension in January but that would only see him stay at United until 2018.
Fellaini is a versatile defensive midfielder who can play the box-to-box role and can even play behind the striker.
