Manchester United began the title defence of the League Cup against Championship side Burton Albion on Wednesday, it was a jolly ride for the defending Champions as we secured a comfortable 4-1 against the Brewers at Old Trafford, Goals from Marcus Rashford (2), Jesse Lingard and Martial ensured a smooth sail to the 4th round of the Carabao Cup while Lloyd Dyer scored a consolation goal for the visitors.
In the past seven matches, United have found the net four times for the fourth time this season and Mourinho will be very pleased with his side goal-scoring exploits after being overly dependent on Zlatan Ibrahimovic for goals last season.
France international Anthony Martial was linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer after struggling to nail down a starting berth under the Special One last season, but the French attacker have been impressive so far this term and was a thorn in the flesh for the Brewers last night.
In the ninth minute, Martial’s shot from the left side of the box was well-saved by the Burton Albion goalkeeper Ripley. Jesse Lingard scored United’s third in the 36th minute after a disguised pass from Anthony Martial while in the 60th minute a calm finish from Martial secured a 4-1 win over the Brewers.
Below is what fans have been saying about Martial’s performance on social media platform, twitter:

The 21-year-old made a brilliant start to his Old Trafford career after scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists in 49 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions two years ago, but failed to replicate his form under Jose Mourinho last season.
He scored just eight goals in 42 appearances last season but has been impressive so far this term, scoring 4 goals and assisting two in seven games this season and would be hoping to add to his tally for the season at the St. Mary’s stadium on Saturday.
