Spanish publication, Daily Express reports that Manchester United are have tabled an offer for 21-year-old Spanish international, Marco Asensio as the player is ready to leave his darling club in a bid for more first team opportunities. The left-footed winger has stated that he would be open to leave the Spanish giants should they go ahead to sign Chelsea forward, Eden Hazard.
The 27-year-old Belgian superstar is believed to be on the wishlist of Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane who is a huge fan of the former Lille wonderkid. Don Balon reports that the player is keen to play more regularly for the Spanish capital outfit, but still finds himself behind the likes of Isco, Bale and Ronaldo in the pecking order. United boss, Jose Mourinho has told the club hierarchy he needs more players to compete adequately with Manchester City, who are currently setting the pace at the top of the league table.
Asensio is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in world football but needs regular run of games to aid his development. We have been linked to Asensio’s teammate, Gareth Bale but it would seem we are going for a younger player with potential to still improve massively.
Asensio is a left footed attacking midfielder that can play on the left or right of an attacking trident. He broke onto the scene with a wonderful goal against Sevilla in the 2016 UEFA Super Cup, and has since gone on from strength to strength. He will offer a direct threat on the wings, as his blistering pace and creativity will help our quest to peg teams back in their own halves.
He has made 26 appearances for Los Blancos this season, scoring 7 goals. It is not clear whether Real Madrid will want to let him go, though a huge transfer fee may tempt them into selling.
