Manchester United contacts La Liga Club over exciting South-American midfielder

The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho is ready to sanction the early release of 20 year old Brazilian midfielder, Andreas Pereira from his loan spell at Granada. The reliable English newspaper states that the Porugues manager has been impressed with the player’s development in La Liga this season, under the tutelage of Lucas Alcaraez. The Brazil youth international’s loan spell at the struggling Liga Santander side runs till the end of the season, yet it is believed the 2015 U-20 world cup finalist would be willing to return to England, if he is guaranteed more opportunities in the first team. The player struggled for game time last season, yet it is believed Mourinho encouraged him to go out on loan for more exposure to first team football.

He played well in preseason, and is in regular contact with his 53 year old manager who is impressed with his attitude and commitment to wanting to improve. If he comes back, though, he may still find himself behind the likes of Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the pecking order at the club. Pereira is highly rated at Manchester United, as his trickery, bravery and vision on the ball have been compared to that of compatriot, Philippe Coutinho, who is currrently reigning as a king at Liverpool. He has been one of the few shining lights for Granada, who are currently flirting with relegation.

Mourinho may be willing to use him in the second half of the season, where the games come in thick and fast. And, with the form of Rooney and Mkhitaryan, Perreira may be useful as United aim to have a successful season. He has impressed in a Granada side, currently short of quality, though it remains to be seen whether he can hold his own in his parent club brimming with class in every position on the field. He has played 804 minutes in 10 matches this season for Granada. It has to be said, that staying at Granada till the end of the season may be the best for his development.
