With the league campaign over, United turn all their attention to The Europa League final on Wednesday, knowing that it is the only route to playing in next season’s Champions League. A number of players have been beset by injuries and, are sure to miss tonight’s game, we take a look at them.

1.  Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The mercurial player suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury against Anderlecht in April which meant he will be out for a long time. The 35-year-old Swede had scored 28 goals prior to his injury, and no return date has been set on his return. His contract expires at the end of the season, and it is yet unclear whether he will be offered a new deal to stay at Old Trafford.

2. Marcos Rojo

The Argentine became a key player under Jose after initially struggling to impress the Portuguese. The former Sporting Lisbon man has won over his manager with his commitment and excellent attitude. He suffered an injury against Anderlecht which was rumoured to be an Achilles tendon rupture.

3.  Ashley Young

Dependable and versatile player, Ashley Young was a valuable first team player before the injury that cut short his season. The player suffered a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo in the Europa League semifinal second leg earlier in the month.

4. Luke Shaw

The English international has been criticized for his performances this season and is widely tipped to leave at the end of the season. The player has been accused by Jose for not wanting to play with the pain barrier all season and is wanted by Tottenham and a host of other clubs in the Premier League.
