Manchester United told to pay £132m for Gareth Bale

Manchester United have been quoted a potential club record fee of £132m should we decide to go ahead with the pursuit of Gareth Bale.

The future of the 25-year-old Welshman, who was the star of Real Madrid’s Champions League final victory over Liverpool, is uncertain. The former Tottenham forward showed his quality in Kiev with a wonderful bicycle kick in a brace from the bench, then shocked the Madrid fans by saying he would need to start more often, with then-manager Zinedine Zidane often overlooking Bale despite him being fit for most of the campaign.

OK Diario (h/t MEN) reports that Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho will reinforce plans to sign the classy left-footed winger as he aims to win the title back from City.

The exit of Zidane means that Bale will wait until new manager, Julen Lopetegui resumes at the club to ascertain whether he would remain at the club. However, OK Diario journalist, Eduardo Inda has claimed that Mourinho has promised Bale to help him win the Ballon D’Or should he make the move to Old Trafford.

We all know the qualities Bale would bring – searing pace and a wand of a left-foot that has made him one of the best goalscorers from outside the box in the world.

He joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 and has since scored 88 goals in 189 matches for the Spanish giants, winning 11 trophies in that time. He will elevate United to another level, as his potential partnership with Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez is one that would strike fear into opposition defenders.
