Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho will not sanction the exit of French international, Anthony Martial despite the arrival of former Arsenal forward, Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window.
Many had feared for the future of the former Monaco man at Old Trafford, but The Express reports that Jose wants him to stay as he sees him as a valuable member of the first team.
Arsenal and PSG have long been linked to his signature but United have rebuffed any attempt to sign him. The youngster has had an impressive season but was below par in the defeat to Newcastle on Sunday, spurning two clear-cut goalscoring chances to put us in front at one point and to draw us level after Matt Ritchie had put the Magpies in front. The Sun reports that the player is being lined up for a meeting with Jose Mourinho to highlight his importance to the club.
The player has just 16 months left on his current deal though there is an option to extend it by a further year this summer. A source close to the club told The Sun. “The boss is ready to sit down with Anthony to put his mind at rest.
“His position is under threat and there are worries from him, he is going to wait and see what happens.
“PSG and Arsenal both want him but Jose still has plenty of faith in his talents and rates him highly. Jose feels he has a huge role to play in this season and the coming ones. He’s a big fan of the lad,” the source added.
Anthony Martial has enjoyed an impressive campaign under the Portuguese this season, bagging nine goals and providing four assists in the league.
