One of the most important stories in football history is finally set to be told, with the official authorised biography of Wales and Manchester United legend Jimmy Murphy.
Murphy was Sir Matt Busby’s right hand man throughout the Scot’s reign as manager at Old Trafford but his contribution ran far deeper. The story of his rebuilding job after the Munich Air Disaster has been shared and yet not fully understood or appreciated; as Busby is prominently given the public credit for the rebirth of the club, Murphy’s incredible work has often gone unheralded.
Now, for the first time, Murphy’s family have authorised and contributed to an official biography of the man many feel is responsible for the tradition and philosophy of the most famous name in football.
