It’s almost twenty years ago to the week that Andrei Kanchelskis left Manchester United for Everton.
Since that time he’s even played for Manchester City.
So it might be surprising to see the United legend in a brand new shirt.
The adidas strip was unveiled today after weeks of poorly guarded speculation and perhaps it was far more of a surprise to see Kanchelskis in the shirt after his acrimonious departure.
Despite the way things ended, many Reds retain a soft spot for the flying winger whose pace and sensational goal scoring ability remains the strongest memory.
And this image – shared by Twitter user Crystal Girlie – is sure to make a few long term United supporters smile.
