It wasn’t a game to relive as United concluded their pre-season programme with a defeat to Paris. Earlier in the day the clubs apparently agreed a deal for Angel Di Maria and United showed themselves to be compliant on the pitch too, contributing to their own downfall.
There were a couple of promising performances individually but, with the season just over a week away, more signs for concern.
