As far as we can ever tell these days in pre-season, we were given an indication as to what shirt number Memphis Depay will wear for Manchester Untied next season.
Depay wore the number 9 shirt against Club America in United’s 1-0 win with ‘Memphis’ on the back as we reported here a few weeks ago.
While shirt numbers this stage are not finalised, it is worth noting that giving a player such an iconic number only to take it away later on might not be the best man-management, and, having had a taste of wearing the shirt, he will surely want to keep hold of it.
