Social media was agog after news broke out that The Red Devils had agreed a £75m deal with Everton for the transfer of the Belgian international, who is reportedly undergoing his medical in Los Angeles. We take a look at how the 24 year old will look in a United jersey with the No. 9 or 10 blazing on his back.
Jose Mourinho is keen to wrap up the signing before the club’s pre-season tour of the USA, and it is believed that United grew frustrated with the pursuit of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, and were silently working on the deal for Lukaku, as they used Wayne Rooney as a makeweight for the deal.
Lukaku is believed to have signed a contract worth around £200k-a-week deal, which is double the amount he earns at Everton. Jose Mourinho is keen on working with Lukaku, who he spectacularly sold as Chelsea manager back in 2014, but he is keen on reuniting with him, as he feels that he has matured and is now ready to lead the line for a bigger club.
Lukaku is currently on vacation in the USA, and has never hidden his intention of playing for a bigger team and testing himself on a bigger stage. He scored 25 league goals for Everton last season, only 4 behind top-scorer, Harry Kane.
Lukaku is a powerful striker, known for his extreme pace, hold up play and finishing. He can be the striker the club needs for an assault on the Premier League title, as he can guarantee 20 league goals a season and will be an upgrade on the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
