It’s Seamus Coleman! A player who we have been linked with a few times over the last two years, but had a pretty average 2014/15 for Everton at right back. And, he’s not exactly a youngster. But can he be any worse than Valencia? Is it worth spending X amount of money (and knowing Everton, X will be a considerable amount) if you’re not really getting a distinguishable upgrade? We know we’re in the market for a right back but we’re not sold on this one.

The Star on Sunday boldly claim we want to swap Angel Di Maria for Edinson Cavani. We’re still unconvinced.

Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his ‘silence’ by re-affirming his wish to stay at Real Madrid. Apparently the idea of being played in a number of unfamiliar positions is appealing to him. But that’s not the news, the news is that Ronaldo is playing mediator, according to AS, telling Sergio Ramos not to join United! That scamp!

Speaking of Ramos, apparently our improved bid is around £42m, some way short of Madrid’s valuation of £63m, but Louis van Gaal is apparently still a little cross about the premium charged for Angel Di Maria last year. It’s all very interesting isn’t it?
