Press Red: July 14th: Lewandowksi And Cavani Wanted

After a flurry of transfer activity was confirmed, many journalists are concentrating instead of how United might line up after going from having 1 midfielder to 36 midfielders.

However there are one or two morsels and the Telegraph almost casually drop in that Robert Lewandowski is now at the top of United’s wanted list. If he is unattainable, then we may push for Edison Cavani of PSG.

The move for the latter may well involve Angel Di Maria – the same Telegraph report suggests that Louis van Gaal is willing to sell United’s record buy and is making that clear as he goes around Europe looking for players to bring in. Di Maria’s wife is reportedly unhappy in Manchester and we all know how those sagas end (well, apart from those reports about Vidic’s wife for about 3 years).

Spanish magazine Don Balon claim that Sergio Ramos has informed Louis van Gaal he still wishes to leave and has asked for patience. We don’t reaaaaaally believe this but could there be truth to it? After all, Madrid have been used to allowing their transfer sagas to drag on until late August. However, now he’s apparently been given the captain’s armband, it seems that saga is done and dusted.

United’s U21’s, meanwhile, played a game of football! They were 3-0 up in a friendly at Salford before the hosts staged a fine comeback and equalised.
